End of Year Update and Seasons Greetings

Dear Reader,

I want to wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season. I’m grateful for your support of my work, and I look forward to another year in 2023.

Claire and I are doing something different this year and packing our bags for a two-week vacation to Mexico. We’ll be celebrating Christmas in Mexico City and ringing in the New Year in Oaxaca.

That might mean that I publish less than usual until we return on Jan. 5—but it is equally likely that I publish more. It could go either way. I am hoping that, freed up from some of the shackles of my day-to-day life in DC, this travel opens up some new channels of creativity which move me spontaneously to write.

I believe creativity doesn’t come from us; it happens through us. If I have learned anything, it’s to submit to those movements.
