Annual Update—What's In Store for 2023
What's new in Anti-Mimetic, and what to expect in the coming year.
I published the first Anti-Mimetic Newsletter in the fall of 2020 while I was putting the finishing touches on artwork for the manuscript of Wanting, and Claire and I were in the throes of moving our wedding date due to pandemic restrictions.
Here we are, nearly three years later—and it’s time to write the next chapter. I am doubling down on what I wrote in that very first edition: this is going to be a place of hope.
During the coming 18 months (which will include a major U.S. election, and we all know what that means), you will not get any of the vitriolic doomsday stuff or shit-slinging from me—that is available on thousands of other substacks at this point, and not hard to find.
I am promising you, instead, a message of hope; and hopefully charity; words that touch the heart and not just the head; the wonder that is proper to a human person fully alive, and which no A.I. has ever experienced; intelligence that is not for its own sake, but intelligence tha…
